Modern Metalworks
Modern Metalworks is a company devoted to the practice of fair trade and the preservation of culture and traditions through the arts. They distribute hand-woven pine needle baskets, made by approximately 23 families in and around Mexico City. They combine the talents of the hand weavers with another company in Mexico City producing handmade, sand cast, polished alloy. These baskets represent the culture and traditions of the local communities, and distributing them throughout the US helps these communities both economically and ecologically.
